Highway workers injured in hit-and-run on I-5 north of Aurora; causes massive traffic backup

At least one of the workers was picking up barrels at the time of the crash, according to KATU. Troopers believe they have the suspect in custody, according to KATU.

Highway worker dies from injuries in hit-and-run north of Aurora

The box truck driver, Colin Michael Cook, was later arrested on suspicion of failure to perform duties of a driver to injured persons, second-degree assault, second-degree criminal mischief, reckless driving and reckless endangerment of highway workers.
