Henry Jacob Girtz killed and Linda Girtz, 59, and Marina Girtz, 17, injured in crash on U.S. 197 near Dufur on August 14.

A man was killed and two others injured in a crash on U.S. 197 near Dufur, Oregon State Police said. Oregon State Police identified the man who was killed in a crash on U.S. 197 about five miles north of Dufur as Henry Jacob Girtz. The crash occurred Thursday at 7:30 a.m. when a 2005 Chevrolet pickup truck traveling westbound on Ward Road turned in front of 1992 Chevrolet Blazer traveling northbound on U.S. 197. The Blazer's driver, 59-year-old Linda Girtz, was flown to OHSU with serious injuries. Henry Girtz, who was in the front passenger seat, was pronounced dead at the scene. Marina Girtz, 17, was in the right rear passenger seat and was taken to Mid-Columbia Medical Center in The Dalles with non-life threatening injuries. The pickup truck driver, 73-year-old Peter Kelly, was not injured and is cooperating with the investigation, OSP said.
