Corvallis bicyclist struck, seriously injured by tractor-trailer rig in McMinnville
According to police, Barnett was riding south on the shoulder of Northwest Hill Road near Northwest Horizon Drive when the truck, a 1993 Freightliner tractor-trailer with an agricultural spray rig on the low-boy, came up from behind. It was being driven by 33-year-old Kasey Kauer of Amity. Police say Barrett was struck as the truck tried to pass him.
Though Barrett sustained serious injuries in the crash, police believe it could have been much worse had he not been wearing a helmet.
