Woman jumps from balcony, runs onto Hwy 26

The Portland Police Bureau said in a statement the woman reportedly jumped from a second-story balcony in the 1600 block of SW Mongomery St., and was found by officers running in and out of traffic, apparently trying to get hit by a car.

Officers got a call that a woman struggling with mental health issues had jumped from a balcony in the 1600 block of Southwest Montgomery Street. When officers arrived, they found that the woman had run into traffic on Highway 26. Two vehicles collided while trying to avoid her, and she was struck by a third car near the Interstate 405 exit. She was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. No one else was hurt in the accident.
