Northwest Cornelius Pass Road was closed between U.S. 30 and Skyline Road after a rendering truck rolled and spilled used cooking oil, according to TVF&R.

The road between U.S. 30 and Northwest Skyline Boulevard will be closed for several hours, said Mike Pullen, a Multnomah County spokesman.

TVF&R crews prevented the oil from spilling into a nearby waterway, Ulven added. The spilled material was originally reported to be raw sewage, based on its odor, Pullen said.
Crews contain 2,000 gallons of cooking oil spilled on NW Cornelius Pass Road
The trailer contained about 3,000 gallons of reclaimed cooking oil. Crews worked to clean up the spilled oil and determine if it had affected two nearby creeks.
At 11:45 a.m. a rendering truck traveling on Northwest Cornelius Pass Road rolled, spilling used cooking oil. No injuries were reported. Passenger traffic is detoured to Northwest Cornell Road or Germantown Road, and commercial trucks are advised to use U.S. 26.
