Woman hit by car, seriously hurt in NE Portland

PORTLAND, Ore. – A woman suffered life-threatening injuries after she was struck by a vehicle in Northeast Portland Thursday night. The woman was crossing Northeast Sandy Boulevard in a marked crosswalk at 42nd Avenue when she was hit by a westbound green Ford Explorer, according to Portland police. The crash was reported at 7:10 p.m. The driver stayed at the scene and is cooperating with officers. Northeast Sandy Boulevard is closed between 41st and 42nd avenues as police investigate.
