Pedestrian hit and killed by truck on Northwest 23rd in Portland

Portland police said the pedestrian and driver were co-workers. While the pedestrian was helping the driver park their work truck, the pedestrian became pinned between the truck and a tree. Medics in a nearby ambulance saw what happened and immediately started doing CPR on the pedestrian, but the pedestrian died of their injuries.

Pedestrian Struck on Northwest 23rd Avenue Dies at Scene

Just after 1p.m. on November 15, 2021, Central Precinct Officers responded to a crash in which a pedestrian was struck by a truck in the 300 Block of Northwest 23rd Avenue. Officers found AMR doing CPR on a person down on the sidewalk, and immediately began assisting. Additional officers arrived, and recognizing the gravity of the situation, began contacting witnesses and establishing a crime scene. Officers requested activation of the Major Crash Team.
