Edward Falk, 59, and dog injured in single-vehicle rollover on Meadow Valley Road in Ephrata, Pennsylvania
Driver, dog thrown from vehicle in crash
Police responded to the report of a one-vehicle crash in the 300 block of Meadow Valley Road, just west of the Royer Road intersections, at about 2:55 p.m.
Officers arrived to find the semi-conscious driver, Edward Falk, 59, of Lititz, laying on the road, with a dog nearby, outside of an overturned small SUV.
Police said with the assistance of a witness they were able to determine that the SUV was heading east on Meadow Valley Road at an unknown speed, and for an unknown reason it began to swerve. It then drove into the opposite lane, skidding back across the roadway into an embankment on the south side of the roadway, where it struck a utility pole guide wire and rolled, according to police.
Falk and his dog were ejected from the vehicle as it overturned, police said.
