11-year-old boy injured, transported to hospital, after he is struck by a car, on Baltimore and High Street in Gettysburg, that fled the scene.

Police responded to a hit-and-run accident at Baltimore and High streets in Gettysburg on Friday morning.

Authorities say an 11-year-old boy was crossing Baltimore Street shortly after 7 a.m. when he was hit by a car that fled the area.

Witnesses told police the young boy walked into the side of the car that was coming down the street.

Police have an updated description of the vehicle: They say the car is cream-colored or off-white and about the size of a station wagon.
