Police identify victim, suspect involved in Lebanon hit-and-run accident
Police have identified the suspect and victim involved in a hit-and-run accident in Lebanon early Saturday morning.
Darwin Almonte, 26, of Lebanon was rushed to a local hospital with serious injuries after he was hit by a driver who fled in the 900 block of North 7th Street at about 2:16 a.m. on Saturday, police said.
At 11:13 p.m. the same day, 21-year-old Chelsea Grischott of Lebanon called police, saying she had been involved in an accident on North 7th Street earlier on Saturday, according to police.
Police did not say whether Grischott was arrested in a written statement. And the Lebanon City Police Department could not be immediately reached for comment.
A preliminary investigation showed that Grischott was the driver of the vehicle that struck Almonte, police said. The 2008 Mazda Tribute police said Grischott was driving at the time of the accident has been impounded.
Police are continuing to investigate the incident.
