Pedestrian struck and killed in Bensalem hit-and-run

It happened at 8:15 a.m. Wednesday in the 100 block of State Road. Police tell Action News that the male victim was walking northbound on State Road when a vehicle, also traveling northbound, struck him around an "S" curve in the road. The impact threw the victim into a wooded area on the side of the roadway.

Police identify man killed in Bensalem hit-and-run

Police have released the name of the man killed in a hit-and-run incident in Bensalem, Bucks County.It was just after 8 a.m. Wednesday when the body of 29-year-old Andrew Miller was discovered by a passing motorist along the 100 block of State Road.Police say they believe it was Tuesday evening when Miller was walking northbound on the shoulder of State Road.A vehicle traveling northbound struck him around an "S" curve in the road.The impact threw Miller into a wooded area on the side of the roadway.The striking vehicle left the scene.However, Bensalem police say they have been contacted by the driver of the striking vehicle.The investigation is ongoing, and so far no charges have been filed.Police are checking area businesses to see if there are any surveillance cameras that may have captured images of the incident.Anyone with information is urged to contact authorities.
