Philadelphia Police are investigating a hit and run accident that left a pedestrian seriously injured in North Philadelphia Tuesday. It happened at 21st Street and Susquehanna Avenue around 3:30 p.m. Police say a woman, believed to be in her late 40's, had just exited a SEPTA bus when she was struck by a white Chevy Impala at a high rate of speed. The impact sent the victim flying nearly 30 feet before she landed in the street. She was taken to Temple University Hospital with serious head injuries. "Upset," said a witness. "I hope justice is served on behalf of him, because hit and runs are a horrible crime, and to know that somebody you know got hit and they didn't get caught, I'm more upset and angry at the same time." "She was just lying there, and the paramedics told me to let her lay there until the paramedics come," said Whitney Jones. The accident was captured on surveillance video. Police are looking for the white Chevy Impala.
