Clarion University freshman killed in Armstrong County crash

Mr. Gavazzi was a biochemistry major, with a minor in nanotechnology, and was on Clarion University's wrestling team, school spokesman David Love said.
A Clarion University freshman Nicholas F. Gavazzi, 18, of Charleroi, was driving a Honda Civic north on Route 28/66 near Upper Hayes Run Road in Rayburn Township at around 8 a.m. when his car crossed into oncoming traffic and collided with a coal truck. Gavazzi was killed in the crash. The truck driver was not injured.
