According to state police, the driver had to be extricated from the vehicle and was flown to a local hospital with major injuries. A passenger, who was found on the road by first responders, was also flown to a local hospital with major injuries.

Five men, ranging in age from 19 to 21 years old, were in the vehicle. One of the passengers, identified by the Indiana County Coroner’s Office as 21-year-old Luke White, was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to police, White was a front seat passenger in a Dodge Neon that was traveling at a high rate of speed on Saltsburg Road in Conemaugh Township when it slid across the northbound lane and off the left shoulder, striking a tree head-on.
