According to Pittsburgh Public Safety spokeswoman Sonya Toler, the fire, EMS and police bureaus responded to the accident around 2:15 a.m. Toler said the vehicle lost control as it passed an underpass, hit the bridge support and burst into flames. The Department of Public Works has since reopened the roadway.
