A 35-year-old man was pronounced dead Thursday after his car landed on its roof in a creek in Scott Township.
The blue Toyota Yaris landed in the shallow water underneath a small, wooden bridge that runs over Georges Run near Hope Hollow Road.
"I was terrified. I thought someone was still in there, but they said they already took him out," said property owner Rita Hareza. "We've lived here for 60 years. Nothing's ever happened around here."
Metal fencing from the side of the bridge where the car appeared to veer off was also damaged.
Authorities identified Christopher Johnson of Scott Township as the victim. The car had a North Carolina license plate with a Steelers frame.
An autopsy will be conducted Friday, officials said.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
