Coroner’s office: Teen dead after crashing motorcycle into utility pole
An 18-year-old died Friday after his motorbike crashed into a utility pole at the intersection of South Pennsylvania Boulevard and Dana Street.
Daniel Hogan Jr. of Wilkes-Barre died at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center as a result of his injuries, the Luzerne County Coroner’s Office reported.
There has not been an autopsy, and there is not one scheduled, said Mary Wallace, coroner’s office administrator.
Since motorcycle crashes often end in serious injuries, victims need immediate help
Motorcycle accidents are more likely to end in serious injuries or death for the motorcyclist, since the rider is not protected from the force of a collision. When a motorcycle accident happens, the injured rider needs immediate, appropriate medical care, the accident needs to be investigated, and the insurance companies need to be informed.
