Two Allendale County men accused of staging train-car collision in insurance fraud scheme

Two men face seven federal charges after authorities say they parked a car on train tracks in Allendale County, causing an Amtrak train to derail, then came back and claimed they were injured in the crash.
33-year-old James Love and 34-year-old Deon Roberts are facing seven federal charges after deliberately causing an Amtrak train to derail in an insurance fraud scheme. Prosecutors say that Love and Roberts parked a stolen 2013 Kia on train tracks, then left until a train crashed into it. Then the two men returned to the scene and got into the damaged car, claiming to have been injured in the crash. No one aboard the train was injured.
