Neighbors shocked after teen killed in hit and run

Giles was a freshman at Silver Bluff High School, and he's the second Silver Bluff student killed in just 12 days. As a Silver Bluff alum, Patterson said it's hard to wrap his head around the tragedy that's hit the town. David Crutchfield, 15, was hit and killed by a drunk driver on January 3. Patterson saw his neighbor, Errik Giles, just moments after he was hit and killed Thursday night. Aiken County schools were not in session Friday, but Silver Bluff High School did leave this statement on the school Facebook page: "All of us at Silver Bluff send our condolences to to the family and friends of this precious student."
