Motorcycle accident leaves one dead in North Augusta

North Augusta Public Safety officials have confirmed that one man is dead after a motorcycle accident. 32-year-old Anthony Ramirez was driving a 2008 Harley Davidson motorcycle when he hit a defect in the road. Tim Carlton, the Aiken County coroner, said speed may have also played a factor in the crash. The accident happened shortly before 7:00 p.m. on the 1800 block of Pisgah Road. The crash is being investigated by the North Augusta Department of Public Safety and the Aiken County Coroner's Office. Ramirez's body will be sent to Newberry, SC for an autopsy.

Neighbors stunned after motorcycle accident kills man in North Augusta

A North Augusta man is dead after a motorcycle crash Monday night, and his neighbors are still in shock. "As I turned the lights on, I could see the motorcycle right in front of my mailbox," Bryant said. I would have hated to have had the job of the coroner last night," Bryant said. Anthony Ramirez, 32, was riding his motorcycle on Bolin Road in North Augusta, when he hit a road defect, and crashed. Connie Bryant lives on Bolin Rd, and when she looked out her front door last night, saw several police cars, and the motorcycle by her mailbox.
