N. Charleston firefighter killed in crash involving tractor-trailer on Palmetto Commerce Parkway
An off-duty North Charleston firefighter was killed in a late-night crash on Palmetto Commerce Parkway, a city spokesman said Friday.
His passenger, an off-duty City of Charleston firefighter was injured in the accident, according to a fire department spokesman.
Another passenger, an off-duty City of Hanahan firefighter was also injured in the accident, according to City of Hanahan Fire Chief Joseph “Bo” Bowers. Bowers said his firefighter was released from the hospital after receiving care.

Mascaro, a native of Pennsylvania, had been with the department since August, 2015 after serving as a Firefighter with the City of Charleston and having served in the United States Army in Iraq.
