Authorities said a van crashed head-on with the truck. The crash site is along a sweeping curve near West Chester School Road and Turn Buckle Road about 10 miles west of Chester, according to the Highway Patrol’s website.

Darby called the crash site, “just terrible,” and said that it took emergency crews about three hours to finally get the second victim out of the wreckage of the logging truck. The driver of the van was ejected and was found near the crash scene where the heat from the fire incinerated the van.
