Pedestrian struck, killed on icy Greenville Co. road

The South Carolina Highway Patrol said a pedestrian died after being struck by a vehicle along SC-14. The collision remains under investigation but the Highway Patrol said the crash remains under investigation but is connected to the winter storm. The pedestrian was transported to Greenville Memorial Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The driver of a 2003 Honda attempted to pass the pedestrian but struck a frozen area in the median which resulted in the vehicle hitting the man, according to troopers. The Greenville County Coroner's Office identified the victim as Andrew Vanevera of Barley Mill Drive.
