Troopers said the driver of a 1990 Chevrolet truck was also not wearing a seat belt and was trapped in the vehicle. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Two vehicles were involved in a collision on US-225 in Greenwood at 7:25 p.m. Adam Rowell, 26, was the driver of a 2005 Chevrolet truck involved in the accident. Law enforcement officers said Rowell was not wearing a seat belt and was airlifted via LifeFlight to Greenville Memorial Hospital. The deceased victim is Jeremy Dean Cockrell, 27, of Chesterfield Court in Greenwood. Cockrell was pronounced dead at the scene due to blunt force trauma.
