According to troopers, a 3-month-old baby died after an incident around 7:30 p.m. at 216 Carmen Trail in Travelers Rest. According to Lance Cpl. Bill Rhyne, the vehicle involved is a 2006 Dodge Ram pickup.
Greenville infant killed after falling off truck
The baby, Jacob Joel Ford of Greenville, may have also been struck by the truck on Carman Trail off U.S. 25, according to Kent Dill, Greenville County deputy coroner.
Truck accidentally runs over Greenville baby
Evans said a 12-year-old girl was holding Jacob in the passenger seat with the door open when the truck — thought to be in park — started rolling back, and the two fell out.
The baby fell out of her arms and was run over, Evans said.
The baby boy reportedly fell from a Ford pickup truck as it rolled back in a driveway at 6:35 a.m.. Coroner Kent Dill said the infant died at Greenville Memorial Hospital at 8:35 p.m.
