A 48-year-old man from Travelers Rest died Saturday night after being struck by a 2010 Ford, Lance Cpl. Tony Keller of the South Carolina Highway Patrol said.

Evans said Williams was operating his moped in the left lane on Poinsett Highway when a Greenville County deputy was passing another vehicle and struck Williams from behind.
The fatal crash occurred at approximately 11:40 p.m. on US 276, just south of Travelers Rest, Keller. The moped driver, who was not wearing a helmet, was taken to Greenville Memorial Hospital where he later died. The Ford driver was wearing a seat belt and is expected to fully recover. The cause of the crash is being investigated.
