Phillip Broderick Howell, 19, killed in single-vehicle crash off of Chinaberry Road in Florence County, South Carolina

Troopers say it happened around 4:00 Friday morning on Chinaberry Road. Troopers say the driver of a 1999 Dodge Pick-Up was traveling west before veering off the right side of the road and hitting a fence and several trees. Troopers says the driver was wearing a seat-belt and was not injured but the passenger died.

FLORENCE, SC (WMBF) - The South Carolina Highway Patrol has reported a fatal collision in Florence County early Friday morning that killed a 19-year-old male. According to SCHP, a 1999 Dodge pick-up was traveling West on Chinaberry road at 4 a.m., ran off the right side of the road, then struck a fence. The Florence County Coroner identified the victim as 19-year-old Phillip Broderick Howell of Florence, he was the passenger of the vehicle. The driver of the vehicle was wearing a seat-belt at the time and not injured, according to SCHP. The incident is under investigation by the S.C. Highway Patrol and Florence County Coroner’s Office.
