The crash reportedly happened at 1:21 a.m. at 209 W. U.S. 501 near Pee Dee Road, but no further details have been made available.

Woman dies in 501 head-on collision

Just after 1 a.m. the driver of a Dodge Durango crossed the center line and hit a SUV head-on coming in the opposite direction. Horry County Coroner Robert Edge says the driver of the SUV, Jessie Mae Jameson of Effingham, was transported to the hospital where she died as a result of injuries sustained in the crash.
