Guider said that deputies reported driving through a heavy rain as they went to the scene, "as hard as they've ever seen it," according to the sheriff.
A 3-year-old girl died Monday night after the tree fell and destroyed part of the home she was in. The child's mother and father and her 8-year-old brother were also inside, but no one else was hurt. The girl was taken to Sweetwater Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. Severe weather in the area may have been a factor.
