Two dead after fatal crash

Two are dead after a fatal three-car crash that occurred just after midnight on Saturday morning.
According to authorities, the crash happened on I-240 East between Lamar Ave and Getwell Rd.  One of the cars had a flat tire and was pulling into the break-down lane when a second car quickly approached from behind and hit the back of the first car. The first car spun into a metal guard rail, and the driver of the first car was ejected from the vehicle. The report states that the second car then continued down the road when it struck a third car.  The third car then veered off the road into a ditch.  The second car flipped several times before coming to rest upside-down. The drivers of the first and second vehicles, identified as Linzie Maxwell and Robert French, had both died before police arrived on the scene. The police report states that the passengers of the first and second vehicle were sent to the hospital in non-critical condition, and none of the occupants of the third car were injured.
