The father arrived and placed the female behind the wheel of the disabled vehicle, Russell said, while the father and the teen boy began pushing the vehicle farther west along Hwy 100, attempting to reach the parking lot of Fairview Elementary School near Old Franklin Road.
About that time Fairview Police Officer James Hill was on routine patrol and driving westbound on Fairview Boulevard and struck the disabled vehicle from the rear.
