2 killed, 6 injured in multi-vehicle crash

Two people were killed and six people were injured in a crash at the Jefferson Street Bridge and Third Avenue North on Thursday.

"If it was treated as a second DUI, she could have been in jail yesterday and this crash wouldn't have occurred," said Kate Ritchie, state program director for Mothers Against Drunk Driving. "She knew better. She knew she wasn't supposed to be driving, and she did. And look at the tragic results that happened."

Monday, the judge rescinded that probation and sent Ferguson back to jail to finish her sentences.

Woman sentenced to 26 years in prison after crash in Tennessee kills two

A woman has been sentenced to 26 years in prison for causing a crash in Tennessee that killed two men soon after she pleaded guilty to a drunken-driving charge in another case.

Two women were in a pickup truck that rear-ended the back of a Cadillac with two men inside at the Jefferson Street Bridge and Third Avenue North in Nashville. The two men inside the Cadillac were killed, while the people inside the other vehicles involved suffered non-life-threatening injuries. Four vehicles were involved. Six people in total were brought to hospitals for their injuries Thursday. We'll update this post as more information becomes available.
