Single-vehicle Sullivan bus crash occurs with driver, six students aboard; one student taken to hospital

BRISTOL, Tenn. — A Thursday afternoon Sullivan County school bus crash resulted in one student being taken to a hospital after complaining of chest pains, authorities said. Sullivan County EMS, members of the Sullivan County Department of Education, South Holston Rescue Squad and Sullivan East Volunteer Fire Department also were on the scene, the release said. Six students were on the bus at the time of the crash, Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Leslie Earhart said in the release. The Sullivan County Sheriff's Office, in an afternoon news release, said that just before 3 p.m. One student was transported to the hospital by Sullivan County EMS after complaining of chest pains, the release said.
