Man injured, taken to hospital, after his motorcycle strikes a guardrail on a I-35 overpass in the Onion Creek area of Austin, causing him to fall 25 feet.

A motorcyclist is in the hospital after falling 25 feet from an overpass.

Austin-Travis County EMS responded to the accident around 12:45 p.m. Thursday on South Interstate 35 in Onion Creek.

EMS says a man on a motorcycle heading northbound on I-35 struck a guard rail on the overpass and fell 25 feet.

First responders say the man has non-life theatening injuries and was taken to University Medical Center Brackenridge.

An Army combat medic was first on the scene and administered first aid before EMS arrived.
