40-year-old man killed and two people injured in motorcycle crash with SUV on Ed Bluestein Blvd. in Austin, Texas
1 dead, 2 injured in multi-vehicle crash in Northwest Austin
"Every weekend it seems like we have some festivities here in Austin, whether its South by Southwest, and this weekend is Texas Relays," Haverland said. "So everyone needs to slow down, take their time, and look out for one another."
One man was killed and two people injured after a multi-vehicle collision in Northwest Austin Saturday night on the 5000 block of Ed Bluestein Blvd. on Highway 183. Two motorcycles and one vehicle were involved in the crash, which occurred when two motorcycles lost control after bumping into each other. One motorcycle crashed into the rear of an SUV, pinning the motorcyclist underneath the vehicle. First responders performed CPR and later pronounced the motorcyclist deceased at University Medical Center Brackenridge.
Since motorcycle crashes often end in serious injuries, victims need immediate help
Motorcycle accidents are more likely to end in serious injuries or death for the motorcyclist, since the rider is not protected from the force of a collision. When a motorcycle accident happens, the injured rider needs immediate, appropriate medical care, the accident needs to be investigated, and the insurance companies need to be informed.
When a motorcycle crash is caused by negligence, additional steps need to be taken to protect the legal rights of the injured motorcyclist or the family members of someone killed in a motorcycle crash. Go here to learn more about motorcycle accidents and claims.
