Police say Gaytan was traveling southbound on U.S. 183 in a BMW just north of Bryson Ridge Trail and ran a red light, hitting motorcycle that was heading north on U.S. 183.

Just after 6 a.m. they released this photo of Gaytan in a nearby convenience store following the crash. After leaving the store, he ran into a wooded area, police say.
New details released in Leander hit-and-run crash that killed father, son
The victims, 40-year-old John Ware and his 17-year-old son, John Ware Jr., of Bertram, died at the scene, according to police. The two were on their way home from work when the crash happened.
