Police: San Antonio man dies after tragic auto accident in San Marcos

A tragic early morning traffic accident has left one San Antonio man dead. 
Just before 6 a.m. on Monday, emergency units responded to a traffic accident on the ramp of I-35 just North of Highway 123. Upon arrival, officers found one person dead on the scene. According to police, saida large wooden tool box fell off a trailer and landed in the nortbound lanes of I-35. Martin Valdivia, 54, of San Antonio, who was driving behind the trailer, pulled off onto the right shoulder. Valdivia and his son, Martin Valdivia Jr., 20, exited their vehicle to move the box out of the highway when both men were struck by a Chevrolet Tahoe driven by Norberto Ruelas-Reyas of San Antonio, who was swerving to avoid the tool box. Valdiva Jr. was pronounced dead at the scene, and his father was taken to Central Texas Medical Center. We'll update this story with any updates we receive.
