Three People Killed In Crash on BushTurnpike

GRAND PRAIRIE (CBSDFW.COM) – The DPS says three people inside a sedan were killed when the driver crashed into a disabled armored car. An infant inside the Accord was rushed by Grand Prairie Fire to Children’s Medical Center of Dallas with serious injuries. It happened around 4:25 p.m. on the President George Bush Turnpike (PGBT) near the ramp to eastbound I-20 in Grand Prairie. DPS says an armored car was disabled sitting in the painted apex of the ramps to east and westbound I-20. A Honda Accord was traveling south on the PGBT and entered the lanes to continue east on I-20.

Three Killed, Infant Injured in PGBT Crash in Grand Prairie

Three people were killed and an infant was injured in a crash Thursday on the President George Bush Turnpike in Grand Prairie. Two occupants in the armored vehicle had minor injuries and were not transported to the hospital. Three occupants in the Accord died at the scene, and an infant was transported to Children's Medical Center of Dallas with serious injuries. The investigation continues into the cause of the crash. Lonny Haschel, spokesman for the Texas Department of Public Safety, said an armored vehicle was disabled, sitting in the painted split area between the ramps to eastbound and westbound Interstate 20 from southbound PGBT. For an unknown reason, a Honda Accord left the traveled portion of the right lane and struck the rear of the armored vehicle, Haschel said.
