Plano Father Killed In Bizarre Drunk Driving Accident

Bhatia’s family said he was on his way home from work at a semi-conductor company where he worked 15 years without ever missing a day. He had just bought a new car for his wife last week and was planning a trip back to India soon where he emigrated from 35 years ago. Bhatia’s sons said their father was a loving and generous man.
A Plano man was killed in a crash involving a suspected drunk driver. Law enforcement officers said a man believed to be intoxicated was lying on the 75 service road about 8:15 p.m. Friday night. An off duty firefighter stopped to offer assistance, but the man became belligerent and stole the firefighter’s vehicle. The man driving the stolen car, identified as 29-year-old Timothy Strong, ran a red light at 75 and Renner Road and hit a car driven by Rischi Bhatia, who was killed. Police have filed intoxication manslaughter against Timothy Strong.
