Texas Department of Public Safety confirms one person has been killed in a fiery plane crash northeast of Quinlan in Hunt County. The single-engine plane went down in a field off County Road 3511 near the Rocking M Airport, shortly after taking off from the Quinlan airport. This is a developing story.

A plane burst into flames after crashing shortly after takeoff from an East Texas airport Wednesday, the FAA confirms. According to Lynn Lunsford with the FAA, the single-engine plane had departed an airport near Quinlan shortly before the crash.

Loved ones are remembering two men killed in a plane crash in Hunt County. Friends and relatives are now paying tribute to Walt Meziere and Joe Livingston, who were both newly married to their wives. Friends like Richards say they can'€™t understand what went wrong. They say Meziere was such an aviation buff that he even owned his own airstrip. Officials with the Federal Aviation Administration say Meziere'€™s plane left his airstrip near Quinlan early Wednesday afternoon.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation. Officials with the Federal Aviation Administration say Meziere’s plane left his airstrip near Quinlan early Wednesday afternoon. It was just moments after takeoff that the plane went down in a field not far from the runway.
