Central Texas man killed in motorcycle crash identified
Troopers reported the Legendre was riding a 1995 Harley-Davidson motorcycle east on FM 1713 when his bike collided with a westbound 1993 Dodge pickup truck driven by a 47-year-old Whitney man, who was not injured.
The truck and the motorcycle collided as the driver of the truck was attempting to turn into a parking lot and pulled into the motorcycle’s path, Wilson said.
Since motorcycle crashes often end in serious injuries, victims need immediate help
Motorcycle accidents are more likely to end in serious injuries or death for the motorcyclist, since the rider is not protected from the force of a collision. When a motorcycle accident happens, the injured rider needs immediate, appropriate medical care, the accident needs to be investigated, and the insurance companies need to be informed.
When a motorcycle crash is caused by negligence, additional steps need to be taken to protect the legal rights of the injured motorcyclist or the family members of someone killed in a motorcycle crash. Go here to learn more about motorcycle accidents and claims.
