Racing may have led to deadly motorcycle crash
Investigators believe racing may have led to a fatal motorcycle crash on U.S. 290 in northwest Harris County. witnesses told investigators a motorcyclist and a black car, possibly a Chevrolet Corvette, were driving side by side at a high-rate of speed and appeared to be racing each other.
The collision happened around 11:30 p.m. on Northwest Freeway when a motorcyclist and a black car were traveling side by side at a high-rate of speed and appeared to be racing. The car passed a tow truck, but the motorcycle crashed into the back of the truck. The driver of the car fled the scene. The motorcyclist was transported to North Cypress hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. Deputies later identified him as Darren Auzenne. Investigators would like to speak to the driver of the car.
