Four people are dead after a horrific wreck in Montgomery County Tuesday.

The two-vehicle crash on FM 3083 south of Jefferson Chemical Road occurred when a Toyota Tundra pickup going southeast crossed into oncoming traffic, striking a Chevy Tahoe traveling northwest on the road.

The Toyota Tundra with a female driver, a female passenger and a small child crossed over the center line and struck a Chevrolet Tahoe head on. The Tundra burst into flames. Several witnesses stopped and sprang into action as they were able to pull the child out.

Four adults were pronounced dead at the scene, two in each vehicle. Three children were taken to a nearby hospital while a fourth child, who was more critically hurt, was airlifted to the Medical Center.
Texas DPS officials are still investigating the crash and didn’t identify any of the victims.
"This is a preventable crash, this did not have to happen," said a DPS trooper.

A Toyota Tundra pickup driven by Harrell and going southeast crossed into oncoming traffic, striking a Chevy Tahoe driven by Moreno and traveling northwest on the road. The Tundra was traveling at a high rate of speed and was attempting to pass in a no-passing zone when it struck the Tahoe head-on, witnesses told law enforcement.
