Police say the motorcyclist was leaving a shopping center parking lot near Tomball Parkway when something went wrong, sending him into oncoming traffic.

"Apparently lost control of his motorcycle, crossed three lanes of traffic and went into the eastbound lanes," said Sgt. J.R. Roberts with the Houston Police Department.

The motorcyclist was thrown from his bike and police say that is when the pickup truck hit him. He died at the scene.

Thank you, please continue to lift us up in prayer.

Yes, his name was Todd Stanford my husband and wonderful father to 3 kids. He owns a barbershop on Jones rd. A wonderful loving caring and compassionate man that will and is greatly missed.

He was my sons barber. He was a funny guy who took pride in his business.

Todd Stanford is the victim's name. Please pray for his family especially his wife and kids. He was veteran and local small business owner. We will greatly miss him, he was my 1st cousin.

I knew todd from working at Kroger on 1960 , right across from walmart. He came in there very often as well as his wife and kids. He also would cut my boys hair, I'm speechless because I just found out yesterday he was killed. My husband said he was about to go to Todd's barber shop to get his hair cut ( benchmark) and I said okay. And then he calls me saying Todd died and I had know idea. And from what my husband says as soon as he walked into the barber ship yesterday he was looking for him. The last words I remember todd telling me was, since I have good braiding skills , get your braiding license and then come talk with with me, because I was possibly thinking about doing braids in the shop with him. Todd was a very humble man and he always kept a smile on his face, and I'm truly hurt by this. RIP Todd and Mikita be strong love y'all mrs owens and owens family...,

Todd was a great guy we both talked about getting motorcycles and how much fun it would be. I received the news 2 days ago and it was saddening. .. prayers go out to the family and friends.

You will truly be missed Todd & I'm eternally greatfull I got to meet you.. I ran around for about 4 hours trying to find someone to to cut my hair. and you deffentaly know how to cut it way better.. I'm gonna miss you bro RIP

My heart and prayers go out to Todd's family. Todd was my son's barber. My son and I just received the news and we are in shock. We had been going to the shop but kept missing Todd or the shop would be closed. We were just talking about him yesterday. Todd was a great person who loved his family. I will keep the family in my prayers.

This man loved his family and had so many things he wanted to do with the shop. Todd you will truly be missed and your legacy will live on forever!!!!!!!!!

Todd cut my son's hair for about a year. My son was quite fond of Todd , in the short period of time spent with him. He was very professional and dedicated to his profession. Todd will be missed by many. My heart goes out to his family during this most difficult time.

An AWSOME man with a beautiful spirit. I remember his first day with us at rayzor sharp. The interview lasted 2 hours, amazing. The shop needed to find an artist to design our logo. We looked for a long time. So Todd said let me give it a shot. Needless to say that's our logo now. Thank you Todd for blessing us with ur gift. We will miss u dearly. Love always Rayzor Sharp Barbershop. PS to the family, we are here if you need us.

He gave me encouraging words when I lost my mother in 09 I pray for his wife and family to get through this difficult time!

I grew up with Todd and this really breaks my heart ... R.I.P. Brother life is to short ={

I'm very sad to hear the news of Todd Death. He was very good guy we would sit and talk about our time in the navy. We also talked about his passion for art and he wanted to start a t shirt line for barbers . I really enjoyed Todd because he so humble and he wanted to learn about everything we even spoke about my near fatal motorcycle wreck. I will miss this young man because he had so many plans for his family and himself. Good guy gone to soon. Just hate ur gone so we could continue to work on some of your goals.

My best friend. You will never be forgotten. I know your alive in the spirit.I just can't physically see you or touch you.Love you m aine.TJ.

Condolences go out to the Stanford Family during this tragic accident. RIP Todd

Thoughts and prayers for all involved. We were in town for a soccer tournament and are from Oklahoma and drove by this accident right after it happened. So sad. Hug your kids tonight as each day is precious.

Does anyone know who the guy was that passed away?

I was driving with my husband when we saw the lifeless body on the ground. Broke my heart. I can't help but, raise awareness of how dangerous thesis motorcycles are. A lot of young crowd love them but, they don't know how to really ride them. I pray for the family!
