Suspected drunk driver with child in car charged in deadly northwest Harris County crash

A man was killed by a suspected drunk driver in northwest Harris County early this morning.Deputies say the suspect was driving under the influence with his 4-year-old daughter and she wasn't in a car seat.The wreck happened around 2am on FM 1960 just west of Kuykendahl.Deputies say the suspect was traveling westbound when he decided to take a U-turn. He ended up t-boning the victim's vehicle -- killing him.Richard Sanders, of the Harris County Sheriff's Office, said, "The driver of the SUV was not transported...impairment on scene."At this point, the driver is charged with intoxication manslaughter but those charges could be upgraded to murder because the child was unrestrained.

The accident occurred around 1:45 a.m.

Driver accused in fatal crash had 4-year-old daughter in car A Richmond resident accused of killing a man while driving drunk Sunday afternoon must abstain from alcohol and can't drive with children in the car, a Harris County judge ruled Monday. Side airbags in Kingori's SUV worked, protecting the child who was not in a child car seat or wearing a seat belt. The 36-year-old is accused of driving a sport utility vehicle westbound on FM 1960 around 2 a.m. S. Wolverton with the Harris County Sheriff's Office. Watkins also said Kingori's 4-year-old daughter was in the car during the wreck.
