Two people dead after wrong-way collision in northwest Houston

Two people are dead after a woman driving the wrong way on Highway 529 crashed head-on into another driver. Police say the woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Officials performed CPR on the man involved in the crash before he was transported by Life Flight to Memorial Hermann Hospital where he was pronounced dead. Officials say they are investigating whether alcohol may have been a factor in the crash.

2 killed in wrong-way wreck in northwest Harris County

A man and a woman were killed in a wrong-way accident in northwest Harris County. Sunday in the 13100 block of FM 529 at North Eldridge. The driver of the Land Rover was taken by Life Flight to Memorial Hermann, where he was pronounced dead. The woman driving the Explorer was pronounced dead on the scene. According to deputies, a woman was driving an Explorer eastbound on FM 529 and drifted into the westbound lanes hitting a man in a Land Rover head on.

Two people were killed in a wrong way crash early this morning in northwest Harris County.Two SUVs slammed into each other on Eldridge near FM 529 around 2:30am.Deputies are still on scene investigating and cleaning up the damage.Eyewitness News has learned both drivers are dead - the only people in the vehicles involved.In the Range Rover, a 47-year-old woman was in the right lane. She died at the scene.The driver in the Ford Explorer was a 38-year-old man. He was flown to the hospital where he also died. Police say he was the one driving the wrong way - eastbound in a westbound lane.We asked if alcohol played a role in the crash. Deputies said they could not comment.However, Deputy Troyer "I believe the speed limit up here is about 50 miles per hour so combining that kind of speed, we're going to get some pretty good damage."
