Authorities determined that the car's driver, who was transported to the hospital but was expected to live, was intoxicated. Three people sustained injuries Saturday night after a drunk-driving collision in southwest Houston. A white SUV traveling south on Fondren Road at the Beltway 8 service road was crossing the intersection around 10:45 p.m. when it collided with a small white car, said Houston police Sgt. The driver of the SUV was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The car's passenger sustained serious injuries.
