Two people detained after fatal accident in Kingwood

The Houston Police Department is detaining two people linked to a deadly accident in Kingwood.The crash happened around 2pm on Wednesday on Kingwood Drive near the Eastex freeway. Police say at least one person was killed. It's not yet clear what caused the accident.Officers shut down Kingwood Drive near Loop 494 for more than two hours investigating the crash.

CAR BURGLAR KILLED IN CRASH-TWO OTHERS IN CUSTODY

Just before 2pm three males were witnessed breaking into vehicles at the Lowes Store on Loop 494 at US 59. The owner of that vehicle jumped into his vehicle and sped after the suspects. They traveled north on Loop 494 the west on Kingwood Drive. They were captured at Loop 494 a short distance from the crash site. Two other males jumped out and fled the scene.

CHASE SUSPECT KILLED IN KINGWOOD

According to HPD, a Good Samaritan saw three suspects burglarizing cars in the parking lot of a nearby Lowe's and decided to follow the suspects. Police said the suspects sped away from the Lowe's, ran a red light on Kingwood Drive and a red Toyota Tundra hit the suspect's vehicle at the intersection.
