"I can't stop thinking and talking about her," said Mireles' cousin Nancy Almodovar, who was also her boss at the real estate company. "She was young, smart. I mean incredibly smart."
Janeth Mireles, 22, died in a car collision last Friday after her vehicle was hit by a pickup truck at about 2 a.m. It appeared to investigators that the Chevy Silverado ran a red light as it traveled west on Saums Road, and crashed into Mireles who was driving north on Greenhouse Road. The pickup's driver, Richard Cooper and his passenger were both taken to the hospital; their condition is unknown at this time. Mireles was pronounced deceased at the crash site. The result of Cooper's toxicology report is not yet in and no charges have yet been filed. A funeral service will be held Wednesday at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home, and a memorial fund has been set up for the Mireles family.
