Lubbock Police: Woman Charged with Intoxication Manslaughter Following Fatal Crash Early Saturday

As she crossed into the intersection, 32-year-old Shani Nichols failed to stop at a red light northbound on Indiana Avenue. Nichols’ SUV then collided with Davidson’s car.

During the course of the investigation Nichols was arrested and is now charged with Intoxication Manslaughter.

Shani Nichols, 32, is accused of driving under the influence and causing a crash that killed 30-year-old Maggie Davidson in February.

A 32-year-old Muleshoe woman had a blood alcohol level nearly three times the legal limit and was speeding in her SUV when she ran a red light, causing a T-bone wreck that killed a 30-year-old woman, according to an arrest warrant released Wednesday.   

Woman indicted, charged with manslaughter

A grand jury indicted Nichols on a charge of manslaughter on Tuesday, a second degree felony.
